Industrial process water

Start with the process that consumes the water. Boiler makeup, rinsing and general utility water can require different downstream treatment and monitoring. Supply the specification from the process owner and distinguish continuous demand from short peak loads. Define which tanks, pumps and polishing stages belong to this equipment enquiry.

Questions worth settling early

  • End-use water specification
  • Continuous demand and peak loads
  • Integration with tanks and downstream processes

What to prepare

  • Feed-water source, analysis and temperature range
  • Required product flow and hours of operation
  • Product-water use and quality requirements
  • Electrical supply, footprint and reject-water route

Make the scope explicit

Ask the proposal to distinguish equipment supply, civil works, external piping, electrical connections, commissioning, training and consumables. Confirm each responsibility in the project quotation. Items discussed on this website are planning considerations, not an automatic inclusion in every supply package.

TDS alone does not describe scaling, fouling or the pretreatment required.
